Terms of sale

Who we are

St John Parker, Nybrogatan 64, 114 41 Stockholm, Sweden. shop.stjohnparker@gmail.com

These terms apply to everything you order from this shop. By placing an order you accept them. Please keep a copy. The terms that apply to your order are the ones in force on the day you order; we may change them for later orders.

The shoes

St John Parker sells shoes, boots and slippers through its collaboration with Shipton & Heneage, together with the house’s own garments carrying the mark. Each pair listed is a pair we hold. The description of a pair is what you see on the page: the leather, the size, the maker and what the maker states about its construction. We describe only what we know.

Your order

When you order you will get a confirmation by email with an order number. That confirmation says we have received the order; the contract is formed when we despatch the goods. Until then we may decline an order — if a pair has gone in the meantime, if a price or a description is wrong, or if we cannot take the payment — and if we do, we will tell you why and refund you in full.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in the currency of the country you shop from and are what you pay at the checkout. Payment is taken when you order. We do not see or store your card details.

Delivery

We despatch within 2 working days. Delivery then takes 3–5 working days within Sweden and 5–10 working days to the rest of Europe. We deliver to Sweden, to the other 26 countries of the European Union and to Norway.

Delivery charges are shown at the checkout before you pay, and depend on where the parcel goes and what is in it.

Risk passes to you when the parcel is delivered. Please examine it on arrival. If the parcel or the goods are damaged, write to us as soon as you can, and before you wear anything.

An order to Norway leaves the EU customs union and may attract import duty and Norwegian VAT on arrival. Those charges are payable by the buyer; they are not ours and we cannot refund them.

How the shoes may be tried

A new pair may be tried on indoors, on carpet, and you should stay on the carpet while you do it. A leather sole takes a mark from a single step on a hard floor. If you want to return a pair it must come back in the same immaculate condition it left in — soles unmarked, uppers unscuffed, lining clean, nothing worn outdoors.

You may of course examine a pair as you would in a shop. But if you do not take reasonable care of a pair before returning it, and it loses value as a result, we will charge you for that reduction in value. On a pair that can no longer be sold as new, that can be the whole price.

Cancellation and returns

You may cancel within 14 days of receiving the goods: your right of withdrawal under the law. Anything customised or personalised is exempt from the right to cancel. The full procedure, and what we deduct and why, is set out in our Refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

Faults

If something is wrong with a pair, write to us as soon as you notice it. Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act you may claim a fault for three years from delivery. Fair wear is not a fault; a welted shoe is made to be resoled, and resoling is maintenance, not a defect.

Complaints and law

Write to us first. If we cannot settle it between us you may take the matter to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, arn.se, or use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform. Swedish law governs the purchase. If you live in another EU country, the consumer rules of your own country that cannot be contracted away still apply to you.
